Step 2: Get Registered

This event requires pre-registration!

Due to planning requirements for meals, materials, and lodging, it is very difficult to accomodate a walk-in participant. Please help us make your Carolinas’ PETS experience a positive one by pre-registering.

How do I Register & What’s Included?

Our next event is March 17 - 19, 2011 and registration is by postal mail or on-line.

Our on-line registration process with credit card payment will be available beginning October 15th. A confirmation email is transmitted immediately upon successful registration and payment authorization. If the on-line steps are not your cup of tea, a registration form can be downloaded by clicking on this link, completed on your PC and then printed on your printer. Either way, registering for this event before the deadline of January 20th will save you $25!

If registering by postal mail, all fees must be paid by check upon submission of the registration form. Again, a form without the proper payment will not be processed.

Registration can be visually confirmed by any participant by going to their respective district’s page on the carolinaspets.org website and clicking on their name.

Private Room: The most popular registration option includes all meals and materials for the entire event, and lodging for one person for one night — Friday.

Other options include adding Thursday lodging, Sharing your lodging room or simply registration with No Lodging needed.

“Sharing Lodging” means that you are sharing your hotel room with another paid Rotarian participant. You may either tell us who that person is or we will assign you a roommate.  After February 10th there are no changes to assigned roommates.

“No Lodging” includes all meals and materials for one person with no lodging.

Thursday Options are Free!

Popular electives offered on Thursday afternoon are these small-group classes. Their purpose is to provide an additional Rotary orientation opportunity for any officer that would like to participate and they are free.

From 1:00 until 2:30pm:

Using the District Database: An overview of the RI learning tools, Member Access, Training & E-Learning Center, and your personal resource - the District & Club Database! Come and learn how to use these tools during the “live” demonstration, ask questions, and learn the 7 “secrets” used by successful club and district leaders. One club president-elect last year said the 15 minutes learning the 7 “secrets” was worth the whole price of admission to their district conference (and this session is free).

From 2:45 until 4:00pm:

Rotary “101”: A chance to enhance basic Rotary knowledge prior to the training as a president-elect. Whether one’s own orientation to Rotary was not as strong as desired, simply wanting to strengthen one’s fundamentals, or wanting to learn how to further enhance a club’s orientation procedures — this is a great opportunity!

Club Leadership Plan: A new offering that reflects RI’s renewed emphasis on a strong administrative structure in our clubs. This tool reflects the best practices of successful clubs and is easily customizable for any club.

Facebook, Twitter, Blogging ... Oh MY: A NEW topic for 2011! Are you lost and overwhelmed by all the Social Networking buzz words and wondering how or why to use them?? If that is the case OR if you are already using these technology tools then this is the session for you. Come explore online technology and how to use it to communicate within your District and the world. This will be a practical overview on social networking, emailing effectively, and how to make your newsletters “pop”. Learn about LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Go To Meeting, Blogging, Podcasting, Vimeo, Flickr and more. Put these “thinking outside the box” ideas to work for you.

From 4:15 until 5:30pm:

Rotary Foundation Future Vision Plan: A complete description of this NEW offering will be posted later.

Using the District Database: An overview of the RI learning tools, Member Access, Training & E-Learning Center, and your personal resource - the District & Club Database! Come and learn how to use these tools during the “live” demonstration, ask questions, and learn the 7 “secrets” used by successful club and district leaders.

Just check the appropriate box on the registration form and sign up for the additional Thursday night lodging should it be needed. The Using the District Database class will be held from 1:00pm until 2:30pm. Beginning at 2:45pm and running until 4:00pm, choose one of these three options: Rotary “101”, Club Leadership Plan, and Fundraising. Beginning at 4:15pm and running until 5:30pm, choose one of these two options: Using the District Database and Rotary Foundation Future Vision Plan.

On the convention center third floor, there will be a place to check-in for these meetings and get a name badge and pocket agenda as well as directions to the specific meeting rooms being used. Go to dinner (dutch treat) and network with fellow presidents-elect after the class and attend the free reception from 8:00 until 9:30pm.
